The Launch of OKS
Congratulations to all of the founding members of the Open Knowledge Society. India has long set the standard for economically priced research publications and, more recently, for open access led by the journals of the Indian Academy of Sciences. It is also a great tribute to the memory of Late Dr. T. B. Rajashekar, who did so much to advance access to knowledge through his work at Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore, India.
We at the Public Knowledge Project wish this innovative new group every success in increasing the focus on greater access to and sharing of knowledge. And we plan to do all that we can to support open access initiatives in India, especially as they touch on our areas of expertise in the utilization of open source software for journals, conferences and harvesters.
Long may you run.

OJS in ICAR
I wish to see that all the Journals of the societies supported by ICAR to embrace Open Access Mode and use OJS for their journal publication. I have come across only two journals in Agriculture. One is Journal of Tropical Agriculture and another one is Karnataka Journal of Agricultural Sciences. Both are run by University! Many journals are being published by different societies under ICAR umbrella but none of them have a online access. My fellow scientists working in ICAR should think about Open Access and together all we can transform all the journals into Open Access.
